Thirty one images from twenty-seven artists constitute Photomedia Center's third annual "Holga Show". I was fortunate enough to have two images selected this year, "Vernal Pool" and "Sassy".
Looking at the images side-by-side, my guess is that the judges are big fans of empty black space. :) Check out the entire show, including many images without a lot of empty blackness, at

I like your quote from "Funny Face" but why have you not bothered to see it? The Astaire character is a fashion photographer based on Richard Avedon, and has some very interesting photography since Avedon was a consultant. It also has wonderful Gershwin music and the charms of Astaire and Audrey Hepburn, and it's on location in Paris with some lovely vistas. Do yourself a favor and see it.
