Beacon Marine Basin (an in-camera Holga triptych)

Beacon Marine Basin is a wonderful landmark in East Gloucester, MA. This is an in-camera triptych shot with my Holga 120S camera. Click on the image to see it larger.

The Clearing

Another inkjet transfer onto aluminum roof flashing. Original shot with a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye Flash camera with an inverted lens. A couple of people have asked me about this process and when I have a little more time I will write something about it on the blog.

Baltic Birch Inkjet Transfers

I just finished three more transfers onto baltic birch plywood. These are all about 7 inches square on a ten inch sheet of 1/8th inch wood. They are spray coated with about three coats of gloss polyurethane. Originals shot with a holga and a Brownie Hawkeye Flash with an inverted lens.

Foggy Morning, Dry Reservoir, Middlesex Fells Reservation

I have always been intrigued by Nancy Rexroth's photo titled "White Sky", Chauncey, Ohio, 1976" (I'll let you google it). It's a perfect summation to her wispy, dreamlike images in her seminal book Iowa. It's really nothing more than a a field of white with a black, Diana camera film border. I'm not even convinced that it's actually a photograph, which makes me love it all the more.

This is my image, shot on a recent foggy morning with my Holga 120N. I was thinking about Nancy Rexroth's image when I saw this. I guess I was not quite ready to tilt that camera up another ten degrees or so. :)
