2016 Somerville Toy Camera Festival

Two of my images will be in the upcoming 2016 Somerville Toy Camera Festival which opens in three galleries this weekend. My images, "Around the Bend" and "Black Horse", were selected by juror Christopher James and will be at the Washington Street Art Center in (where else) Somerville. The opening for the Washington Street show is Saturday, September 10 from 7-9 pm. Regular gallery hours after the opening are Saturdays 12-4pm.

The images were created with a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera with a reversed lens. Extremely expired film was used (about fifty years out of date) for both of these images. "Around the Bend" is a pigment ink print and "Black Horse" is an acrylic transfer to aluminum with a high gloss epoxy coating.

If you're in the Boston area this weekend, please check out the show. There are around 120 images in three galleries so there's lots to see.

  1. Beautiful as always. Still think you should have called the first one "Squishing Your Head", but that's just me I guess

    1. Thanks, John. There are other images of this particular place, so there's always a chance of that title becoming a reality. :)
